However, many traditional survey systems—especially in developing countries like Malawi—are plagued by inefficiencies in data acquisition, poor cooperation, inadequate integration of geo-spatial intelligence, and limited analytical capabilities (Chirwa, 2025). This dissertation introduces Mobile Survey, an innovative, integrated survey system developed to address these limitations. The system comprises a mobile application and a website, facilitating real-time collaborative data collection, offline data synchronization, and advanced analysis utilizing statistical software and generative AI. It incorporates geo-spatial mapping functionality to enhance decision-making and includes a geo-portal component that enables users to share or monetize their data. Developed using cutting-edge technologies such as React Native, Next.js, FastAPI, and Firebase, Mobile Survey offers a secure, scalable, and user-friendly solution (Chirwa, 2025). User testing indicated high usability and performance, though further refinement of the user interface and support for additional question types are necessary. This project makes both technical and scientific contributions to the field of survey systems by addressing gaps in collaboration, spatial integration, and AI-based analysis (Chirwa, 2025). The findings of this study are applicable to researchers, government agencies, NGOs, and the general public, providing a robust foundation for efficient, intelligent, and inclusive data collection and analysis (Chirwa, 2025).
